Expert-led webinar to discuss diabetic peripheral neuropathy and metabolic disorder

Healthcare professionals are invited to learn about diabetic peripheral neuropathy and metabolic disorder during an online event next month.  

Hosted by the NEUROdiab Youth Committee, the webinar will focus on current understanding of disease mechanisms and emerging evidence linking lipid abnormalities and metabolic dysfunction to peripheral nerve injury.

By integrating clinical and research perspectives, the webinar will provide insights into metabolic neuropathy and its implications for prevention and management.

Chaired by Dr Maryam Ferdousi, Research Fellow at the University of Manchester, and Dr Shazli Azmi, Consultant Diabetologist at the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, the virtual event will be held on Tuesday, March 3, between 7pm and 8pm (GMT). 

Professor Handrean Soran, Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist at the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, and Professor Brian Callaghan, Professor of Neurology and a Neuromuscular Specialist at the University of Michigan, are both speaking during the webinar.
