Webinar to explore continuous glucose monitoring in secondary care

On Monday 11 September, healthcare professionals from across the UK are invited to join a free virtual webinar introducing continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) in secondary care settings. The session, running from 6pm to 7:30pm, is open to both RCN members and non-members and will also be recorded for later access on the RCN Diabetes Forum webpage. 

The event will be hosted by James Ridgeway, Diabetes Specialist Nurse and Education and Research Associate with the Eden Team at Leicester Diabetes Centre, alongside Amanda Williams, Vice Chair of the RCN Diabetes Forum and Lead Diabetes Nurse at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. 

Designed to equip healthcare professionals with practical knowledge, the webinar will cover:

·      The fundamentals of CGM technology.

·      Benefits and barriers to using CGM in hospital care.

·      Guidance on supporting patients using CGM during admission, illness, scans, or surgery.

·      Key considerations for device alerts and safe practice.

·      This session aims to increase confidence and competence among secondary care staff in integrating CGM into patient care.
