GIRFT webinar to spotlight new Community and District Nurse Insulin Programme (CADNIP)

Professor Gerry Rayman, GIRFT joint clinical lead for diabetes, will host a webinar on Tuesday 24 September at 1pm to explore the benefits of the newly launched Community and District Nurse Insulin Programme (CADNIP).

The programme has been developed by the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) team to support community and district nurses in ensuring people living with diabetes receive their prescribed insulin injections at the right time, in the right dose and in the right way.

The webinar will highlight how services in Ipswich and East Suffolk have addressed the rising demand for community-delivered insulin care. With more people reliant on community teams for insulin administration, CADNIP aims to improve both outcomes and experience while also promoting efficient use of NHS resources.

Professor Rayman will discuss how CADNIP can:

·      Provide greater consistency and safety in insulin administration.

·      Help reduce complications arising from poor injection technique or delayed doses.

·      Support community nursing teams with structured, evidence-based guidance.

·      Improve the quality of care for people living with diabetes receiving community support.

CADNIP is part of GIRFT’s wider mission to share best practice across the NHS and enhance services for people living with diabetes. The webinar offers an opportunity for healthcare professionals, commissioners and community care providers to understand how this new initiative can be implemented in practice.
