JBDS seeks insights from inpatient diabetes teams to support safer EHR implementation
The Joint British Diabetes Societies (JBDS) is calling on inpatient diabetes teams across the UK to share their experiences of working with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to help shape a new national resource.
As more NHS organisations introduce or upgrade EHR systems, inpatient diabetes teams have become increasingly involved in the safe prescribing, administration and dispensing of insulin –a high-risk medication requiring robust protocols and safeguards.
To support this vital work, the JBDS is launching a short survey to collect insights and learning from frontline teams. The aim is to develop a practical toolkit that includes safe standards and best practices, helping ensure the safe and effective management of inpatient diabetes care within electronic systems.
DISNs and wider inpatient diabetes colleagues are encouraged to complete and share the survey to support this important initiative.

Your input will help shape national guidance and improve safety for people with diabetes receiving inpatient care.
