Rowan Hillson Inpatient Diabetes Award 2025 now open for entries
The Rowan Hillson Inpatient Diabetes Award 2025 is now open for entries – offering healthcare teams across the UK the opportunity to showcase their innovative work in inpatient diabetes care.
Now in its 11th year, this national award recognises outstanding initiatives that improve outcomes for people living with diabetes in hospital settings.
Led by Dr Umesh Dashora on behalf of the Joint British Diabetes Societies for Inpatient Care (JBDS-IP), the award is judged by an independent panel chaired by Dr Rowan Hillson MBE FRCP, former National Clinical Director for Diabetes at the Department of Health.
Teams are invited to submit projects that:
Empower people living with diabetes: Does your programme prioritise autonomy, education and self-management skills of people living with diabetes?
Demonstrate value and impact: Can you quantify the positive impact your work has on patient outcomes, healthcare costs and value-based healthcare?
Encourage collaboration: Does your team embrace interdisciplinary partnerships and shared decision-making, fostering ongoing collaboration and knowledge sharing?
Hold scalability potential: Can your innovative approach be adapted and implemented in other settings while maintaining its effectiveness?
Demonstrate sustainability: Showcase how your programme is designed for long-term success, considering factors like resource allocation, staff training and community engagement.
The deadline for submissions is 27 July 2025. Entries can be submitted using the online form: https://forms.gle/Nfuy9Z5wH8QYtfe86
