Ravinder Dosanjh appointed new Chair of DISN UK Group

Ravinder Dosanjh has been appointed as the new Chair of the DISN UK Group, taking over from Paula Johnston. 

Ravinder brings extensive nursing and diabetes experience to the role, having worked across acute and primary care settings, as well as in specialist and leadership positions. She is also a qualified non-medical prescriber.

Ravinder has worked as a full-time DSN in the acute sector since 2015, across hospitals in Wales and England. Her experience includes project and programme management, including implementing ThinkGlucose across four hospitals in Wales and leading the NHS England-funded North London Diabetes Transformation (DISN) Programme.

Ravinder is now Lead Diabetes Nurse Manager at Hywel Dda Health Board, where she is responsible for the day-to-day running of diabetes services across acute hospitals and community practice, as well as providing professional leadership for primary care.

Passionate about improving diabetes care, Ravinder believes education and training are essential to ensuring nursing and medical teams can provide high-quality support for people with diabetes. She is a nurse assessor for the Diabetes Care Accreditation Programme (DCAP) and a member of the Trend Diabetes committee.

Ravinder said she is looking forward to taking on the role and supporting the continued work of the DISN UK Group.
