New senior team to launch bold new chapter of CVRM Professional Care

An educational conference uniting cardiovascular, renal and metabolic care has strengthened its leadership team, reinforcing its commitment to delivering a new era of “smart healthcare”.

Matt Hodgins joins CVRM Professional Care as Event Director, alongside Julia Dowden as Content Manager and Alfie Booth as Senior Digital Marketing Executive.

Together, they will lead the event’s inaugural chapter, breaking down silos across healthcare specialisms and driving forward its vision to advance integrated patient care.

Formerly known as Diabetes Professional Care (DPC), CloserStill Media has relaunched the event this year as a unified, all-in-one platform, allowing diabetes, cardiovascular, renal and metabolic specialists to explore their own fields while gaining insights across connected disciplines.

The first CVRM Professional Care conference and exhibition will take place at Olympia, London on October 20 and 21, bringing together leading experts and innovators for two days of learning and collaboration.

Matt Hodgins will lead the CVRM Professional Care team, bringing more than two decades of experience in launching and developing market-leading events in technology, hospitality, architecture and design. Around the time of the pandemic, Matt also worked with healthcare professionals and senior leaders in the NHS for a total of three years. Leveraging this extensive experience, Matt is tasked with bringing the holistic vision of CVRM Professional Care to life, uniting healthcare specialisms under a single, innovative platform.

He said: “CVRM Professional Care represents a bold step forward in delivering smart healthcare, bringing together cardiovascular, renal and metabolic specialists in a truly integrated way.

“Our approach aligns closely with the NHS 10-Year Health Plan, focusing on preventative care, innovation and patient-centered pathways that break down traditional silos and improve outcomes across multiple long-term conditions.”

As Content Manager, Julia Dowden will play a central role in shaping a cohesive event programme that reflects the real-world complexity of patient care across cardiovascular, renal and metabolic conditions. Drawing on five years’ events experience and her track record of managing multiple B2B conferences annually across diverse sectors and countries, Julia will design meaningful sessions and curate high-quality speaker faculties for CVRM Professional Care, ensuring the event sparks discussion yet remains grounded in practical insight.

She said: “While CVRM Professional Care embraces a broader scope, diabetes remains at the heart of the conference. It is essential that we continue to provide specialist insights, evidence-based updates and practical guidance to empower healthcare professionals in managing this ever-evolving condition.

“What makes this conference particularly exciting is the chance to shape conversations across cardiovascular, renal and metabolic care, creating a platform that unites these specialisms to drive holistic patient care.”

Joining CVRM Professional Care as Senior Digital Marketing Executive, Alfie Booth brings a wealth of experience from his time at CloserStill Media, where he started in 2021 as a Marketing Assistant and quickly progressed to help lead on DPC 2025. For CVRM Professional Care, Alfie will take a hands-on approach to driving attendance, engaging audiences and enhancing the event’s brand visibility across digital channels.

He said: “We are creating a dynamic and engaging experience for attendees, combining expert-led sessions with innovative digital touchpoints.

“By fostering collaboration across specialties, CVRM Professional Care is setting a new standard for professional education and community building in healthcare.”

CVRM Professional Care will bring together diabetes, cardiovascular, renal and metabolic specialists in one place, with four high-impact theatres spotlighting: prevention, innovation, therapeutic advances and integrated care pathways.
